Interface Overview
Trochai's interface is designed to be intuitive and efficient, even for users without technical experience. In this guide, we'll show you the main elements of the interface so you can get oriented quickly.
Sidebar
The sidebar is your navigation hub. From here you access all sections of the application.
Organization header
At the top of the sidebar you'll see:
- Your organization's logo (or the Trochai logo if you haven't uploaded one).
- Your organization's name.
- A button to collapse/expand the sidebar (panel icon).
If your organization has a custom logo (configured in Settings > Organization), it will appear next to the name.
Navigation sections
The sidebar displays the following sections, represented by icons and text:
| Section | Icon | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Inbox | Envelope | The heart of Trochai. Here you view and reply to all WhatsApp conversations. |
| Properties | Building | Manage your agency's property inventory: houses, apartments, commercial spaces, land. |
| Projects | Folder | Manage real estate developments (condominiums, residential complexes, plazas). Available on the Pro plan or higher. |
| Templates | Document | Create and manage WhatsApp-approved message templates for sending outside the 24-hour window. |
| Events | Calendar | View and manage scheduled property visits: dates, statuses, assigned agents, and Google Calendar sync. |
| Analytics | Chart | View conversation metrics, response times, bot usage, and agent activity. |
| Settings | Gear | Configure your organization, WhatsApp channels, users, bot, billing, and more. Only visible to administrators. |
The Projects section is only available on the Pro plan or higher. If your plan doesn't include it, you'll see a dimmed icon with a message indicating you need to upgrade your plan.
The Settings section only appears for users with the Administrator role. Agents and viewers will not see this option in the sidebar.
Collapsed sidebar
You can collapse the sidebar by clicking the panel icon in the header. When collapsed:
- Only navigation icons are shown, without text.
- Hovering over an icon shows a tooltip with the section name.
- The sidebar takes up less space, giving you more area for the main content.
The sidebar state (expanded or collapsed) is saved automatically in your browser, so it persists between sessions.
User menu
At the bottom of the sidebar you'll find the user menu. Click on your avatar or name to open the dropdown menu with the following options:
Notifications
Access your notifications by clicking the first option in the menu. Notifications inform you about:
- New conversations assigned to you.
- Messages in conversations you're handling.
- Bot escalations that require human attention.
If you have unread notifications, you'll see a red dot on your avatar. You can mark all as read with a single click.
Profile
Access your profile to update your name, profile picture, and other personal information.
Preferences
Configure your personal preferences, such as notifications and application settings.
Theme
Change the application's appearance with three options:
- Light -- White background with dark text.
- Dark -- Dark background with light text. Ideal for working at night or in low-light environments.
- System -- Automatically adapts to your operating system's theme setting.
Language
Switch the interface language between:
- Espanol -- Default language.
- English -- English interface.
The language change applies immediately to the entire interface. Your language preference is saved and persists across sessions and across Trochai's different subdomains.
The interface language only affects the application. The bot's response language is configured separately in Settings > Bot.
Sign out
End your current session. You'll be redirected to the login page.
Main content area
The main content area takes up the rest of the screen, to the right of the sidebar. Its content changes depending on which section you're in:
- In the Inbox, it's split into a conversation list on the left and the message detail on the right.
- In Properties and Projects, it shows a list with filtering and search options.
- In Analytics, it displays charts and metrics.
- In Settings, it shows navigation tabs at the top for the different settings sections.
The content area has a background with rounded corners and a subtle shadow, giving it a floating card appearance over the application background.
Responsive design
Trochai automatically adapts to different screen sizes:
On desktop (large screens)
The sidebar is permanently displayed on the left. You can expand or collapse it according to your preference. The content area takes up the remaining space.
On mobile devices (small screens)
The sidebar is automatically hidden. Instead, a menu button (hamburger icon) appears in the upper left corner. Tapping it slides the sidebar in from the left as an overlay panel.
The inbox also adapts: on small screens, the conversation list and message area are shown one at a time, with a "back" button to return to the list.
Settings tabs
When you access the Settings section, you'll see a horizontal tab bar below the title. The available tabs are:
| Tab | Description |
|---|---|
| Organization | Name, logo, primary color, and subdomain of your organization. |
| Users | Invite and manage team members. |
| Channels | Configure and manage your WhatsApp channels, members, and assignment rules. |
| Tags | Create tags to organize conversations. |
| Bot | Configure the AI assistant: instructions, behavior, and model. |
| Billing | View your current plan, payment history, and purchase credit packs. |
Welcome tour
The first time an administrator signs in, Trochai displays an interactive guided tour that highlights each section of the sidebar and explains its purpose. This tour helps you quickly become familiar with the platform.
If you'd like to repeat the tour, you can find the option in the application preferences.
Help button
In the lower right corner of the screen, you'll find a floating help button. Clicking it gives you access to support resources and documentation directly from the application.
Next steps
Now that you know the interface, it's time to handle your first WhatsApp conversation.
