Manage Subscription
How to upgrade, downgrade, update payment method, view history, and cancel your Trochai subscription.
Manage Subscription
From Settings > Billing you can manage all aspects of your Trochai subscription: change plans, update your payment method, review your billing history, and cancel if needed.
Viewing your current plan
At the top of the billing page you will find your current plan and subscription status:
- Plan name -- Solo, Pro, Enterprise, or Custom
- Status -- Active, Past due, or Canceled
- "Manage billing" button -- Opens the billing portal where you can manage your payment method and billing details
Subscription statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Your subscription is current and functioning normally |
| Past due | A recent payment failed. Update your payment method to avoid service suspension |
| Canceled | The subscription was canceled. Your plan is reduced to Solo level |
Upgrading your plan
You can upgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades are immediate and billing is prorated automatically.
Go to Settings > Billing
Navigate to the billing section.
Select the new plan
In the plans section, click Upgrade plan on the card of the plan you want to switch to. You can choose between monthly and annual billing using the toggle at the top.
Complete payment
A secure checkout window will open. If you already have a saved payment method, it will be used automatically. Otherwise, enter your card details.
Enjoy your new plan
Once payment is completed, your plan activates instantly:
- Your new message, seat, and feature limits are available immediately
- You are charged the prorated difference for the remaining days of the current cycle
Proration example when upgrading
If you are on the Solo plan ($29/mo) and upgrade to Pro ($99/mo) halfway through your billing cycle:
- You are credited the unused value of Solo (~$14.50 for the remaining half)
- You are charged the prorated portion of Pro (~$49.50 for the remaining half)
- Net immediate payment: approximately $35
- Starting with the next cycle, you are charged the full Pro price ($99)
Downgrading your plan
You can downgrade to a lower plan. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, not immediately.
Open the billing portal
In Settings > Billing, click the Manage billing button. This opens the billing portal.
Change your plan
In the portal, select the option to change plans and choose the lower plan you want to switch to.
Confirm the change
The portal will show you when the change takes effect (at the end of the current cycle) and your new limits.
When downgrading, verify that your current usage is compatible with the new plan's limits. For example, if you have 8 users and downgrade to Solo (1 seat), you will need to adjust your team before the change takes effect.
What to consider when downgrading
- Seats -- If you have more users than the new plan allows, you will need to remove the additional users
- Projects -- If you have projects and downgrade to Solo (0 projects), existing projects are preserved but you cannot create new ones
- Tags -- Existing tags are preserved but you cannot create more if you exceed the new plan's limit
- Features -- Custom bot instructions and AI provider choice may not be available on lower plans
Updating your payment method
Open the billing portal
In Settings > Billing, click Manage billing.
Update your card
In the billing portal, find the payment methods section. You can add a new card, remove old cards, and select your default payment method.
If you have a "Past due" status, updating your payment method and retrying the payment from the billing portal will resolve the issue automatically.
Switching between monthly and annual billing
You can switch between monthly and annual billing from the plan selector. Annual billing offers a discount equivalent to 2 months free (approximately 17% savings).
- Monthly to annual -- The full annual price is charged at the time of the switch, with credit for the remaining time on the monthly plan
- Annual to monthly -- Generally takes effect at the end of the current annual period
Canceling your subscription
If you need to cancel your subscription:
Open the billing portal
In Settings > Billing, click Manage billing.
Cancel the subscription
In the portal, find the option to cancel your subscription.
Confirm cancellation
Review the details and confirm. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid billing cycle.
What happens when you cancel
- Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing cycle
- When the cycle ends, your plan is automatically reduced to Solo level
- Your data (conversations, properties, contacts) is not deleted
- Purchased pack credits remain in your balance
- You can reactivate your subscription at any time
Canceling your subscription does not delete your account or data. You can resubscribe at any time from Settings > Billing.
Reactivating your subscription
If you canceled your subscription and want to reactivate it:
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Select the plan you want and click Upgrade plan
- Complete payment in the checkout window
- Your plan activates immediately with all corresponding limits and features
Tax identification
You can add your tax identification (cedula juridica or fisica in Costa Rica) during the checkout process or from the billing portal. This information is automatically included on generated invoices.
To add or update your tax identification:
- Click Manage billing to open the billing portal
- Find the tax information section
- Enter your identification type and number
FAQ
What happens if my payment fails?

Can I pause my subscription temporarily?
There is currently no option to pause a subscription. If you need a pause, you can cancel and reactivate when needed. Your data is preserved.
How are taxes handled?
Applicable taxes (such as IVA) are handled automatically by our payment provider. The tax information you provide is included on your invoices.
